Happy Halloween Sarah

I wanted to upload more of your wonderful costume pictures you've taken throughout the years, but I want to first make sure how fast or slow your internet is!  Mike and I almost decided to be Halloween scrooges and go see movie or something, but instead, will faithfully give out candy using Dad's fake hand and his Rastafarian Hat/hair for the 11 treat or treaters who grace our plastic pumpkined entranceway.  Our two real pumpkins sit on the front bench, uncarved, sad in the thought that their  seeds may go unroasted this year.  Where is our head witch, they ask? Sleeping off a mighty long travel to another part of the world would be my guess!

Welcome to Palampur, India!
Known as the Tea Capitol of Northern India, Palampur is nestled at the base of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range of the Himalayans.   This quaint mill town, population 70,000 is surrounded by tea gardens and pine forests.  The name is derived from PULUM, meaning lots of water.  Palampur hosts a beautiful luxury hotel and an upscale market where one can buy Nikes or one of India's  woolens items, like shawls.  The best paragliding in the world is found in Palampur.
The 2015 Paragliding
 World Cup actually ends today,
making way for Sarah Moratz and her new 7 week adventure!
 Soar, baby, soar!

End of the Baseball Season

Game 7 of the World Series ended last night with a 3-2 loss to the Giants who won the series...boo.  Hard fought game, we had a man on third (Gordon) when the last out happened.  Although everyone in KC is disappointed, the team had a fabulous season, way beyond expectations.  Matthew said admission to P&L last night closed before 5PM...huge crowd.  Sooo, baseball is over...go CHIEFS!

Giants Fall, Royals Win!

Omar Infante hits homer, as fans cheer...Royals 7, Giants 2.  Speaking of fall, grey fall day today, leaves have been dropping, most of the black walnut trees are already stripped of leaves...as you mom indicated.  A couple more pics from the front of the house.
and across the street.

Fall Color falls short this year!

WELL, WE EXPECTED TO HAVE A RECORD BREAKING FALL COLOR SHOW, BUT WITH TWO VERY LARGE STORMS IN THE LAST FEW WEEKS WE SOMEHOW HAVE MISSED THE BRIGHT REDS, ORANGES AND YELLOWS WE HOPED FOR.  AS YOU CAN SEE THE COLORS ARE MUTED AND MUCH IS STILL GREEN...ALL THE WHILE FALLING FROM THE TREES.  I THINK WE ARE IN FOR A COLD LONG WINTER!

Royals in World Series

Picture of the celebration at the K and at P&L after winning over the Orioles on Wednesday to advance to the World Series beginning next Tuesday.

Thank you Royals
Royals broke a 29 year slump as well as world records.  They one their wild card spot, and every game since.  If they win today they are on to the World Series.  They are the talk of the sports channels and newspapers and never seeing a team so powerful.  Matthew and Mike will not wash the clothes they first started watching the series in- including Matt's blue underwear so it may begin smelling like a Royals locker room if they continue their winning streak.
I thank the Royals for winning because my Dad has watched every game with us since last Friday when playoffs started.  He has had a ball.  We watch some of the games at his house and some of them at our rental.  It has been a very special time together and I will remember it forever.

We made it to the top of Squaw Peak.  1.2 miles up the mountain.  Dad and Matthew were determined to go up Camelback Mountain (much harder) as well, but after we got down Squaw Peak Dad decided maybe he would pass.  Going down was very hard on his knee.  Matthew still plans on doing it.  We'll, see, since tomorrow we leave.  I forgot a hat, so I had to use this goofy corduroy hat from Limited 2 that was at the rental house.

Snack?

Watching Fox News on our SouthWest flight yesterday and they had an interview with a NJ teacher on a shark adventure in South Africa...she spent a month observing Great Whites.  A newspaper interview is in the link.

The Royals Did It!
They won three straight games against the LA Angels (best team in the league) and now they are in the finals.  They play best of 5 against Baltimore starting next Friday and if we win it...
Off to the World Series.
(guess what the boys will be doing in Arizona!)

Pat Medill called me early this summer because someone told her about your adventure.  She asked for a blurb and some pics.  I totally forgot, but you are featured in the Weatherby Lake Newsletter this month! Super Cool!

Sending enough love to span from Weatherby Lake to the Moon,
Mom
